Arrived in Hochi Min (Saigon) around 7pm yesterday.
OMG!!! it's absolutely crazy, I have never seen so many mopeds in my life let alone in one place, honestly they are like termites, thousands of them on the move.
It makes Bangkok seem almost sleepy by comparison..
We found a nice guest house in the heart of the city but managed to get a quiet room at the back, we went straight out into the madness and had some local brew and our first Vietnamese food.
There is so much choice and all promises to be tasty.
Today we went for a walking tour of the city, first stop markets

This lady was chatting away while the guy was sorting out his crabs |

Quick food break, people all over Asia always seem to be eating |
She seems very comfortable around the fish |
Decisions, decisions |
This guy was carrying big chunks of ice, he later crushed it for sale |
Negotiating with the rikshaw driver, he didn't stick to his word on the price so we legged it after taking a few photos and being driven round the city for 10 minutes amongst the moped chaos |
Makeshift table and chairs.. |
This lady is also eating |
Beer any one? |
A typical street side area to grab some food on the go |
This lady is deep frying fish

I tried to capture the moped madness, we stood at a junction watching, they are millimetres apart, and what you can't hear is the constant beeping of horns, no one takes a blind bit of notice. |
Spot the guy on the left driving on the pavement, it is a common sight, if they can't get through on the road they take to the pavements |
They're off! |

Peeling garlic

Well, that was the first day in Vietnam, a total assault on the senses, what an amazing crazy place Hochi Min City is.
Tomorrow we plan to walk some more and take in the war museum and other sights.
Looks wonderful! xx
