The trip over was so easy, 20 min taxi to airport, we had bags checked in 15 min, waited 30 mins until boarding and a 40 min flight, got our luggage straight away and straight through to a taxi to our hotel which was less than 2km down the road.
We had pre booked a bungalow just off the beach, it had good reviews on trip advisor and it's great, the most expensive room we have had so far, $35 between us.
It's funny that when you start getting used to the local prices how 23 pounds for a room seems expensive and 3 pounds for a main meal is daylight robbery over here.
So, in little over 2 hours from start to finish we had left Saigon and were in Phu Quoc in our bathing suits in the sea, and within half an hour I had a pina colada firmly in my hand for the sunset, which is fab as it's directly in front of our stretch of beach

We went for a walk 8am this morning along the beach, this place is very close by, I liked that they have used the coconut trees as a poles for the shades, |

The first evening sunset
Last night we walked bare foot along the sandy beach and had fresh red snapper cooked on the bbq which was lovely, we had a table on the beach and watched the night boats fishing for sqiud. Later we walked to a small bar and played pool which was fun, I haven't played for years but won 1 out of 3. Today we have lounged on the sun loungers about and swam when it has got too hot. There are ladies doing 1 hour massages on the beach for 1.80. pedicure and manicure for 1.50 and other ladies coming along with chilled fresh fruit, it's a hard life. It's their new years eve tomorrow so we are joking that we will have been together over 2 decades, (well we would have celebrated 2)
That's about it for today, would be nice to have some comments to know you are all still there. x |
